Reading an article for Econ and now I'm thinking about pollution and all that crap. China is blamed for polluting so much, but it seems like China never really do anything about it. And if they do, it never really works.
Take the smoking law they created. No smoking in all restaurants. what total bullshit. I can walk into almost any restaurant now and you'd see people smoking. Drives me crazy how such a simple thing as telling the customer not to smoke or putting up non smoking signs won't work. Why can't Chinese people just sacrifice a little and not smoke when they're in the restaurant instead of getting all angry because they can't have their way? I don't understand. Someone please tell me.
Another example. The ban of plastic bags in supermarkets. That failed. Chinese people just go: "Why are you ripping me off? If i'm shopping at your supermarket, I should be getting plastic bags for what I buy." Why can't they just obey the freakin law and bring their own bags. Change starts from one person, as cheesy as that sounds. One person can make a difference. One person can save the world. Yes i'm trying to be cheesy.
Why are Chinese people so stubborn sometimes? I can't stand it. Yes, I'm Chinese too. But still. I'm not like that. Talking to my friends awhile ago, maybe they should start something like an Etiquette/How to live your life Class that is a requirement for all Chinese people, where they teach things like holding the door for someone, lining up at restaurants & not cutting -_-, throwing trash away, recycling, stopping at a red light, not moving your car when there is a traffic jam, ordering the right amount of food rather than so many dishes just to try one mouthful of each dish.
My god. So many things I can't stand. I'm not even exaggerating. Maybe I'm just so damn picky about every little detail, but when I go out, all those things that I mentioned above piss the hell out of me.
Enough of my rambling, better get back to this article of some Australian man dissing China for all the problems in the world.

though China is my home, i think we really need to get out of here...
That's because the laws weren't made quite right. If someone breaks one, almost nothing happens.
